OMG, it's finally out, Gimkitters!

Yesterday at idk what time, the new game Color Clash released!

Yay! 🤩 Also, #Kitdown2025!

It is really fun and absolutely nothing like what me or anyone else thought it would be like. Yet another point for Team Gimkit for making yet another unpredictable Season!

In this post, my second ever review of an official Gimkit game, you can check out some of my finding from Color Clash and some facts...

First Thoughts

Teams Magenta and Green must race to paint as much of the map's tiles as possible.

There are 1500 tiles, though, that you can color, and they can be taken back, so the game can change very quickly at any point in the 14 minutes the game can be hosted for; whatever tiles you paint your team's color, the other team can claim seconds later. 😄

But that's not all! The game can get harder and become more dependant on Platforming skill for Gimkitters who want more of a challenge, since Josh seems to have coded up a new surprise for us, messing with Color Clash's game physics with a new device that gives you an extra jump in midair. 🦘

Personally, I'm choosing to call this new unreleased device a Boost, since it currently doesn't have a name yet. Or does it... ;)

Unreleased Devices

Here are some new devices (and 1 I accidentally screenshotted) that I found in the files of Color Clash:

Unreleased JumpGranter Device

Unreleased Scorebar Device

<-- The boost thing I mentioned earlier.

<-- The thing from Blastball that keeps track of the scores of each team

Various Unreleased Devices

<-- The device that keeps track of which tiles are colored for which team.

<-- A device that is really one of the Map Settings.

<-- Just the Text device, lol.

What This Could be Used For

All 3 of these unreleased devices (Scorebar, JumpGranter, & TeamColorTilesManager) bring with them enormous potential for Gimkit Creative for whenever they come out (most likely many months in the future, but hopefully soon).

I can think of at least 10 ways off the top of my head with which these could make some already great games more interesting, and several games that could be built from scratch with these. I can already picture a game where all you have to do is climb up 500m using only the JumpGranter device, lol. That would really be gimpossible!😅

The Post Is Over?

Wrong! There's still 1 more thing to cover: lore. So far, Color Clash is pulling a Dig It Up, since it currently has no lore... but Dig It Up didn't have lore in the beginning either, but now, however, it has an excellently crafted mystery going on in the background.

So, the question remains... is Team Gimkit writing up some lore to add at a later date (like maybe in the form of an NPC or a sidequest)? I guess we'll see soon! 😉
