Hey, Gimkitters!! Welcome to our first ever game review! The other day, I was scrolling through Discovery, when I came across this game. I figure it's a great game to start with, so let's get going.
The game we're talking about today is... Tower of Difficulty Chart, a game made by pi(mysz), mathew, and TopZ. You may recognize TopZ's name; that's because TopZ was one of the creators of AoMS, which I referenced in this post. ⚡
A platformer based off of JToH's ring 2 soul crushing, tower of difficulty chart. Ascend a 10 floor tower that progressively gets more difficult. Can you reach the top?
Now it's time to start your tour into the world of ToDC...
Levels
ToDC is a really well-made game. It's honestly one of the most non-repetitive platformers I've ever played.
Every level of the game features a rainbow of slope jumps in varying colors. In levels 1-4, the jumps are fairly easy and you can pass them quickly. However, from levels 5-7, they get progressively more difficult (like the PACER test lol), which makes it a bit harder to beat the higher you climb. 🥵
Levels 8A to 10, though... wow, that was hard! I've gotta give it to mysz, mathew, and TopZ! I couldn't get to those levels, but I was able to get some of the screenshots below using the game's very clever options button.
The options button allows you to access the game's practice mode, which allows you to play the game by jumping to the start of each level so that you can play levels that you otherwise couldn't get to (or jump back to a level after falling).
Additionally, practice mode allows you to respawn in the lobby or get back to full health (which is really useful in situations where you find yourself surrounded by lasers and need to restore your health fast, such as in the Remorseless level). The only drawback of using practice mode is that it doesn't count towards completion of the game, though it can help you practice and get good enough to beat the game without using it! 😎
My Experience
I had a really fun time playing the game with my friends. Every jump was unique, which made for more interesting gameplay.
Once I got to level 7, I wasn't able to make it any further, but I found the challenging jumps really fun since I like seeing all of the types of slope jumps people can make. Playing this game was fun alone and with my buddies, since playing solo is great for trying to master the jumps, while playing in a group can help add a competitive edge to the game.
It was even fun when I kept lagging off platforms and my friends still had perfect wifi. Lol 🤣
Overall Rating
Okay, welcome to the end of the post! Here's where I'll finally give my rating for the game on the G.G.S. Scale, which stands for Gimmie a Good Score.
Because of how much fun I had playing this, the level of detail the devs appear to have put in, and the amazing slope jumps, I give this game... 10/10, since I couldn't have chosen a better game to play today. 🏆
