Uncovering Unreleased Gimkit Skins: A Guide to Accessing Hidden Files

Have you ever wondered how the Gimkit Fandom finds Unreleased Gims? Well, if so, this guide is perfect for you!

Getting There

Okay, let's get started! To access Gimkit's files - where you can find unreleased cosmetics - you need to right click on the images of your cosmetics.

To find a Gim in the files, right click on any Gim in your Locker or in the Item Shop. Then, click Open Image In New Tab and then you'll be in.

To find a Trail, right click on it and follow the steps above. And to find Stickers, right click on one of your stickers and continue like the instructions say above.

Right Click ---> Open Image In New Tab ---> Search

Once in the files, look at the URL of the page you're on. It should say the name of the cosmetic after its type. For example, here's an unreleased Gim of a cat costume in the files:

Formatting

Before you can find any unreleased cosmetics, you need to understand the formatting of Gimkit's files. Gims, Stickers, and Trails all have different formats in their games.

Stickers and Trails both have no capitalized letters in their names. Also, words in their names are separated by underscores. Here are some examples below:

Back_to_school

Block_fruits

Gims on the other hand, use a different format. In Javascript code (which Gimkit uses), there's a term called camel case. Camel case is used to create names of properties you can affect in Javascript.

Camel case is when the first letter of the name isn't capitalized, but the other words are. This is how the format distinguishes between different words. Here's an example:

gimkit.com/assets/map/characters/spine/preview/vanGogh.png

vanGogh

Conclusion

Here is a list of every unreleased cosmetic I know of; the list is located in the Gimkit Fandom.

To find unreleased cosmetics on your own, try looking at the types of names Gimkit uses for their files and plug in names you think could belong to something unreleased. Who knows? Maybe you'll find the next big Gim before it's out!
